The Humane Society of Clinton County maintains an active volunteer program, an integral part of our daily operations. As an independent non-profit organization, we and our animals rely on the assistance of caring and hard-working volunteers in all of our programs. You can volunteer in several ways:
Our foster families care for animals who aren’t ready for adoption. Most fostered animals stay in homes for two to six weeks, and include nursing mothers and their litters, young kittens, puppies, injured pets or animals needing socialization or time away from the shelter.
If you're at least 16 years of age, our Shelter Volunteer Program is for you. Our devoted team of volunteers invests thousands of hours every year helping to care for the animals.
Need service hours for school, community groups, work groups, or for court-ordered community service hours? We may be able to help you while you help the animals.
School, work, and community groups may volunteer at the HSCC.
There are a number of other ways you can assist the animals and staff at the Humane Society that don’t involve working at the shelter or with animals. You can even suggest your ideas!
